WP-4: CENTRAL UNIVERSITY OF GUJARAT (CUG), GANDHINAGAR

Aims and objectives:

  • Develop reliable, reusable, robust, field level applicable and highly selective and sensitive nano sensors

  • To optimize developed nanosensors

  • To optimize interaction of toxic heavy metal ions with engineered nano materials

  • Confirm their field applicability and

  • To characterize nanosensors (before and after the interaction with metal ions) in terms of UV-Vis, HR-TEM, FE-SEM, XRD and WAXRD, EDX, FT-IR and SERS analysis

Methodology:

To achieve planned objectives, nanosensors will be developed by following steps

Deliverables:

The applicant is aimed to use the virtual properties of nano materials in water treatment which is an emerging branch of Science and Technology. This project will also help the candidate 16 to create a centre at the Central University of Gujarat, Gandhinagar by research on water purification techniques. Hence, main deliverables of project are:

  • The invention will be provided a process for the detection of water toxicants, a kit comprising the heavy metal ion test piece and a sensor.

  • A portable test piece and/or a device can be provided by the test piece according to the invention, to detect the heavy metal ions in a convenient, efficient and rapid manner.
